Can foreign nationals own freehold property in Dubai?

Yes, foreign nationals can own freehold property in Dubai. The government of Dubai allows non-UAE residents to purchase freehold properties in designated areas known as "freehold zones." These areas include popular locations like Dubai Marina, Downtown Dubai, Palm Jumeirah, and others. Freehold ownership means that the buyer has full ownership rights to the property, including the land it stands on, and they can sell, lease, or pass it on to heirs as they see fit.

There are some restrictions on foreign nationals owning freehold property in Dubai:

  1. Designated Areas: Foreign nationals can only purchase freehold property in specific areas designated as "freehold zones." These areas are selected by the government and include popular districts like Dubai Marina, Downtown Dubai, and Palm Jumeirah.
